"I Went to Xinjiang" is a documentary supported by the Shanghai Aid to Xinjiang Command Center as part of the 2017 Shanghai Cultural Aid to Xinjiang project. It features notable figures such as the former Minister of Culture and famous writer Wang Meng, National CPPCC member Yang Minduo, Chinese professional basketball coach Li Qiuping, Shanghai aid doctors like Peng Xiaochun, and over 20 other ordinary yet symbolically significant individuals. On July 2, 2017, the promotional prequel "The Beauty of Uyghur Costumes in a Century" was released. On September 2, 2017, the documentary officially released its first promotional film "Costumes from Thirteen Regions of Xinjiang, China a Century Ago," which recreates and showcases precious images of women's costumes in Xinjiang a century ago, holding unique historical, cultural, and artistic significance. The promotional video premiered on the "I Came from Xinjiang" WeChat public account and was released across major social media platforms.
