"In the Depths of Shangri-La" is planned and supervised by the State Council Information Office, and co-produced by China Central Television in collaboration with the Sichuan Provincial Publicity Department, Sichuan Radio and Television Station, and Dongfang Fengxing (Beijing) Media Culture Co., Ltd., among other relevant units. "In the Depths of Shangri-La" plans to create a five-episode television documentary series (45 minutes each) and a 90-minute documentary film of the same name. The television documentary will use advanced filming techniques to authentically record the lives of people in the western Tibetan region of Sichuan, as well as the wonderful stories and moments happening in the natural world, comprehensively reflecting the coexistence of humans and nature, the integration of people and cultures, the conflicts and fusion of tradition and modernity, and the inheritance and innovation of culture. The film version will revolve around the theme of "humans and nature," reconstructing and retelling the most exciting stories from the five-episode television series with cinematic standards, providing viewers with unique audio-visual and psychological experiences. The executive producer of "In the Depths of Shangri-La," Yan Zhansing, is also the executive producer of the previous large domestic documentary "The Third Pole." According to him, while "The Third Pole" focused on Tibet, this new project shifts the perspective to the Tibetan region of Sichuan, which is a natural continuation in creating a series of high-quality documentaries related to Tibet.
