Simon (played by Kad Merad) was once a very famous violinist, full of passion and love for the instrument. However, now he finds himself at a middle school in Paris, teaching violin to a group of sixth graders. Simon has a very serious attitude towards music and his personality is quite stern, making it difficult for him to connect with the students.
