In a magical place located beyond the Iberian Peninsula, 17-year-old Asha (voiced by Ariana DeBose) lives with her pet goat in a land called the Kingdom of Wishes, where people come from all over to express their wishes to a mystical king, Magnifico (voiced by Chris Pine), who promises to fulfill their deepest desires one day, determining when and which wishes will come true. The astute idealist Asha makes a particularly powerful wish and receives a response from the universe—a small, energy-filled orb known as a star. Asha and the star confront a formidable enemy to overthrow Magnifico's rule in order to save her community and prove that when the will of a brave person combines with the magic of a star, wonderful things can happen.
