Every year, restaurant owner Max (François Cluzet) invites his friends to his seaside villa for a vacation, but this year's holiday is overshadowed by a serious car accident involving Ludovic (Jean Dujardin). To lighten the sadness, the friends decide to go to the seaside as usual. Vincent (Benoît Magimel) is feeling very heavy-hearted; he realizes that his feelings for his gay friend Max are intensifying over time to the point of being undisguisable, but the truth is that they are both married with children. Marie (Marion Cotillard) is also having a hard time, surrounded by a group of men she doesn't like, while truly in love with her ex-boyfriend Ludovic, who is lying in a hospital bed at death's door, and at this critical moment, she discovers she is pregnant. Anthony (Laurent Lafitte), who is usually confident in his charm, has been cheated on, and while he appears open-minded, he can't help but repeatedly question his loved one about why she abandoned him. Everyone wants to temporarily forget their troubles by the tranquil seaside, but troubles are so cunningly pervasive in their fragmented lives that, as adults, they have to weave small, kind white lies to each other.
