Young officer Nick Cruz (Ryan Reynolds) thinks long and hard before he refuses to pocket the drug dealer's stolen gold with his partner Bobby Hayes (Kevin Bacon). As a result, he is killed during a chaotic operation. After his death, Nick arrives in another world and is employed by the R.I.P.D.
