This film tells the story of John Lennon’s youth. Lennon (played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson) was adopted by his aunt Mimi (played by Kristin Scott Thomas) from a young age and only reunited with his biological mother, Julia, at the age of 15. His aunt and mother engaged in a struggle for his custody. Lennon's mother introduced him to music and bought him a guitar.
