The Thomson family consists of four members: the father, Tom, the mother, Sophie, and their two daughters, Jess and Katie. This family is a typical quirky family. One day, they invite a stranger to dinner, who unexpectedly dies at the table. They become murder suspects. Six months later, Tim Tanaka, who is familiar with the family, reveals their secret to psychiatrist Eric Sykes, who surprisingly has no professional ethics about keeping secrets. Soon, the Thomson family becomes infamous in the newspapers, labeled as the "murder family," and the facts are increasingly distorted. The 65th British Academy Film Awards (2012) - Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer The Black Pond is a 2011 independent film that received numerous accolades. The film cost only £25,000, and its directors, Tom Kingsley and Will Sharpe, were both only in their mid-twenties at the time of filming. The film explores how even normal people can act abnormally, which may apply to its lead actor, Chris Langham. Black Pond is the first film that this renowned comedian, who won a BAFTA for his role in The Office, took on after being sentenced to three and a half months in prison on charges related to "child pornography."
