This film tells the memories and stories of a patient living in a mental hospital, resembling a mad journey of imagination or the insurmountable fear people have towards loathsome manifestations. The respectable Mr. Mario Agosti is an upright politician with a twin brother, Philip, who is a hedonistic conman regarded as the black sheep of the family. In an effort to outshine his famous younger brother, Philip begins interacting with influential figures in politics and business, soon gaining benefits from these powerful individuals. They are fascinated by the spirit of his plans and the practical risks involved, trusting his schemes without hesitation. However, when Philip resorts to some unethical means and fails to secure an important agreement to mine uranium with an African head of state, a group of politicians decides to permanently swap his identity with that of his overly honest brother. Thus, Philip becomes the honest Mr. Mario Agosti, while the real Mario, for insisting on maintaining his true identity, is sent to a mental hospital.
