The second-year Rakugo performer, Shingyo, on his twenty-third birthday, visited a soapland for the first time with the help of his friends, including Shingome. Elizabeth, who became involved with Shingyo, took an interest in the naive young man, and they started dating from that day on. She is an intellectual who reads Penguin Books. A few days later, girls from a high school Rakugo club came to request coaching from Shingyo. He develops feelings for one of them, Yumi. Pure-hearted Shingyo confesses his feelings for Yumi to Elizabeth, but she says, "As long as it doesn't get found out, it's fine," and doesn't mind. Shingyo continues to date both Elizabeth and Yumi, struggling with his feelings. Around this time, Shingome's promotion to main performer was decided. While he was happy for his senior, Shingyo felt left behind and visited Elizabeth's apartment. She was packing for a trip to Ogoto. Shingyo suppressed his loneliness and helped her. On the day of Shingome's promotion party, Shingyo and his friends talked about their dreams for the future.
