The story takes place in the mysterious ocean, where the little mermaid is the favorite daughter of the Sea King, possessing the most enchanting singing voice. One day, her song attracted a prince to the reefs, and the prince's ship hit the rocks, causing him to fall into the sea and be in life-threatening danger. At this critical moment, the little mermaid, disregarding her father's objections, insisted on saving the prince and fell deeply in love with him. The prince mistook a girl who happened to pass by for his savior and vowed to marry her. The little mermaid sought the witch, hoping that she could grant her human legs, at the cost of never being able to speak again. The prince discovered the little mermaid and brought her back to the palace. The subjects hoped the prince would marry the princess of a neighboring country, and to the prince's surprise, that princess turned out to be the girl he had encountered that day, leading him to decide to marry her immediately. The little mermaid's heart was shattered.
