The crazier the advertisers, the funnier the ads they create. Ann Murray (played by Dudley Moore), a copy editor at an advertising agency, finds himself sent to a mental hospital after he can only come up with straightforward ad copy. Ironically, his blunt style becomes quite popular, and he begins collaborating with the "crazy" patients in the hospital to write more down-to-earth yet outrageously funny copy. Here are some of the humorous copy and hilarious moments from the film. Hilarious moment one: Ad copy for United Airlines – "Most passengers flying United Airlines make it back alive." Hilarious moment two: Ad copy for the post office. A speeding mail truck crashes down the highway. The cheerful mailman says, "To ensure your letters are delivered on time, what's a few dead people?" Hilarious moment three: A travel ad for a certain travel agency promoting the Bahamas. A voluptuous bikini-clad woman fills the screen, named "Bahama," with the slogan: "Come into the Bahamas!" The scene switches, and numerous operators are explaining to complainants: "The service we provide does not include 'entering a woman's body.'" Hilarious moment four: An Asian male patient, having won a car, eagerly tries it out while cursing, "Damn it, let's run over a few white people first." Hilarious moment five: An image ad for New York City – "There was one less murder here than last year." Hilarious moment six: Ad copy for Sony. Pre-release version (American description): "Because Japanese people (short) have their eyes closer to electronic components, they produce the appliances." Post-release version (Japanese description): "Because Westerners (tall) have their eyes further from electronic components, we handle the delicate work of assembling precision instruments, Sony Electronics."
