At Honjo Hospital in Matsumoto City, Shinshu, the young and capable internal medicine doctor Kazuto Kurihara (played by Sho Sakurai) has earned the trust of the local community. Despite being short-staffed, he, along with Jiro Sunayama (played by Jun Kaname), Shizue Tokimura (played by Michiko Kichise), Naomi Nishi (played by Chizuru Ikewaki), Yoko Minazuki (played by Aki Asakura), and his senior Seiichiro Kunita (played by Akira Emoto), work together with dedication to care for every patient who seeks help. Kazuto's wife, Haruna (played by Aoi Miyazaki), is a freelance photographer, and although they see each other rarely, they manage to warm each other's weary hearts. One day, Kazuto receives an opportunity to further his studies at his alma mater medical school, while the patients who deeply trust him continue to seek his care, leaving him and those around him with a difficult choice... This film is adapted from the namesake original work by Kosuke Nakagawa, a doctor from the Ueno area.
