Kazuya Takagi (played by Sho Sakurai) has dreamed of becoming a soccer player since he was young. With hard work and talent, he was chosen as a representative of the Japan national soccer team at a young age, with a bright future ahead. Kazuya has been in a relationship with his fiancée, Miki Nakamura (played by Masami Nagasawa), for many years and is about to step into marriage. Just at this pivotal moment, Kazuya suffers a serious car accident, resulting in spinal injuries and paralysis of his lower limbs, forcing him to spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair.
The dual blow to his body and mind drives Kazuya to despair. Just when he contemplates giving up on life, Miki hands him a marriage application. Defying the objections of family and friends, Miki becomes Kazuya's wife. With Miki's support, Kazuya actively engages in rehabilitation therapy and regains his passion for life. By chance, Kazuya witnesses a sport called "wheelchair basketball," which helps him rediscover his future goals.
