This film is a political satire comedy largely featuring the team from the critically acclaimed British TV series "The Thick of It." The U.S. President and the British Prime Minister suddenly wish to initiate a war. They promise it will be swift! U.S. General Miller (James Gandolfini) doesn’t think so, nor does British Secretary of State Simon Foster (Tom Holland). However, after Simon unexpectedly expresses support for military action during a primetime TV show, he suddenly finds himself with many friends in Washington. If Simon can connect with certain people in Washington, if his aide (Chris Addison) can successfully seduce an intern (Anna Chlumsky), and if they can stop the Prime Minister's Chief Strategist Malcolm Tucker (Peter Capaldi) from manipulating a UN vote, they might prevent the war. If they can’t... they can always fire their consultant Judy (Gina McKee). The Judy they have never liked, who is dealing with voters affected by pipeline blockages and a disgruntled man (Steve Coogan) upset about a collapsed wall.
