12-year-old Sam (Robbie Kay) is a terminal leukemia patient. After his third relapse, he stops going to school and no longer undergoes chemotherapy in the hospital; instead, a nurse delivers platelets to his home daily, monitoring his condition as he spends his final year of life. Sam has a companion, Felix (Alex Etel), who is also in the terminal stage and can only sit in a wheelchair. The boys' parents hire a tutor to guide them and arrange daily learning activities. The teacher encourages them to keep diaries and make wish lists. Whether it's becoming a scientist, watching their first adult horror movie, kissing a girl, or taking a spaceship ride… Sam and Felix bravely fulfill each of their dreams while exploring the complexities of life and death from their own perspectives. Their journey, though brief, is incredibly vibrant and splendid. "I don’t want you to be sad for me, because—if you feel sad every time you think of me, how can you remember me well?" This film is adapted from the children's novel of the same name by British author Sally Nichols.
