Three childhood friends, Rivekin (played by Chris Klein), Feller (played by Elijah Wood), and Dixon, have maintained a pure friendship despite living different lives in New York. However, one day, they all receive draft notices, giving them only 30 days to prepare. This notice profoundly impacts their lives. Rivekin is a married lawyer whose career is on the rise, recently promoted to partner at his firm. He struggles to find legal loopholes in the draft process, hoping to evade service due to major changes in his career and family. This puts him in a moral and professional dilemma. Feller is a writer whose first novel has achieved great success. However, the draft notice disrupts his plans, forcing him to rethink his life and career choices. To make the most of the limited time, Feller creates a list of ten things he wants to accomplish before enlisting, marking his personal growth and adventure. Dixon is a taxi driver who has always lived alone. Initially excited and proud about enlisting, seeing it as an opportunity, he gradually realizes that serving might cost him many things, including freedom and independence. This leads him to an inner struggle as he must decide whether he is willing to sacrifice for his country.
