In 20XX, a powerful earthquake struck Japan, followed by a tsunami and nuclear leakage, leading to a crisis no less severe than that of the Great East Japan Earthquake. In a small town in Nagasaki Prefecture, Takahiko Ono (played by Isao Natsuyagi), who works in the cheese ranching business, was originally living a peaceful life with his elderly wife, Chieko (played by Naoko Otani), son Yoichi (played by Jun Murakami), and daughter-in-law Izumi (played by Megumi Kagurazaka). The earthquake stirred memories of the atomic bomb in him and fueled his distrust of the government. Not long after, his neighbors were forced to evacuate due to being within a 20-kilometer radius of the nuclear power plant, while the Ono family remained in place. To protect his children, Ono ordered his son to leave, while he chose to stay rooted to his homeland. During this time, some were searching for missing parents, while others developed a fear of nuclear radiation, putting immense psychological pressure on the community. The situation showed no signs of improvement, and the Ono family was about to face a moment of decision...
