Since the Gwangju Incident in May 1980, South Korea has been moving further down the path of military dictatorship. Alongside the rising calls for freedom from democratic figures, the government's suppression and trampling of human rights have become increasingly rampant. The secret base in Namsan-dong, Seoul, brought indelible painful memories to many democracy activists. On a day in September 1985, democratization movement activist Kim Jong-tae (played by Park Won-sang) was secretly arrested and immediately taken to Namsan-dong. In this cold, eerie place, he was forced to write a personal biography without sleep, while constantly suffering the punches, kicks, and personal insults from the interrogators. To force Kim to write a fabricated confession, a group of ruthless men, led by torture expert Lee Do-hwan (played by Lee Kyung-yong), subjected Kim to more than twenty days of torment using various violent methods. They personally created one of the most shameful histories in the nation... This film is based on a true story.
