The film is adapted from the life of American composer Cole Porter. 　　The story takes place in Paris, France. American Porter (Kevin Kline) arrives in this art-filled city with dreams and aspirations for the future. Here, Porter meets a beautiful woman named Linda (Ashley Judd), whose presence rekindles Porter’s desire for women.
