The story takes place on a picturesque Italian island, where the family of Enesto (played by Mimmo Cuticchio) resides. Years ago, Enesto's son went out to sea and never returned, leaving behind his young son Filippo (played by Filippo Pucillo) and mother Giulietta (played by Donatella Finocchiaro) to live a life of mutual dependence. Fortunately, with the help of Enesto and Uncle Nino (played by Beppe Fiorello), the mother and son manage to maintain a stable life. After losing her husband, Giulietta lives in loneliness and solitude every day, feeling that the small island is gradually suffocating her soul, with the only way out being to leave. One day, a group of stranded tourists drifts to the island, shattering its usual tranquility.
