The sales business of a real estate company is deteriorating, with the exception of one employee, Ricky (played by Al Pacino), whose performance is still acceptable. The other employees are reduced to drowning their sorrows in a bar. The company manager, John (played by Kevin Spacey), noticing the low morale, brings in sales guru Blake (played by Alec Baldwin) to deliver a motivational speech. This guy is domineering and sharp-tongued, tearing everyone apart. In order to survive, veteran salesman Levene (played by Jack Lemmon) hopes to keep his job to support his sick daughter in the hospital; George (played by Alan Arkin) resigns himself to fate due to his old age; Dave (played by Ed Harris) plans to steal Ricky’s sales leads and conduct all transactions secretly.
