At Matsuragai First High School, during leisure time after school on Friday, an atmosphere of unease spread throughout the campus. Rumors circulated that the star player of the volleyball club, Kirishima, was quitting, shaking the established pyramid of the school. In the twilight on campus, the members of the volleyball team, badminton club's Higashihara Aya (played by Ai Hashimoto), Kirishima’s girlfriend—the campus beauty Risa (played by Mizuki Yamamoto), and his close friend Hiroki Kikuchi (played by Masahiro Higashide) all felt surprised as they searched for Kirishima, ultimately finding nothing. Amid this chaos, the film club's president Ryo Maeda (played by Ryunosuke Kamiki) and the wind band club's president Ayako Sawajima (played by Soshina Oka) seemed relatively unaffected. Living in the margins of the school, they quietly engaged in their club activities while secretly harboring feelings for someone. Within a week, the hearts of these boys and girls underwent significant changes… This film is adapted from Ryo Asai's debut novel of the same name and won second place in the 2012 Film Critic's Top Ten films, as well as awards for Best Film, Best Director, and Best Editing at the 2012 Japanese Academy Awards.
