A single mother raises her two sons, and their family of three is once happy and harmonious. However, one night, an incident occurs when her youngest son is left alone at home, resulting in a fire that blackens the kitchen and leaves him with severe burns. Consequently, a social welfare agency intervenes, deeming the mother, who works in a nightclub to support the family, unfit to care for her children. They employ various methods to forcibly break up this well-functioning family, leading to an absurd struggle against bureaucracy rooted in familial love. How can one balance legal reasoning and human emotion, the state and the family? Is it good? If they must part ways in the end, they must still find peace in their conscience, unashamed before heaven and earth. Delphine de Vigan, known for her documentary work, makes her remarkable feature debut, nominated in the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival.
