This film presents the life of the genius Mozart from the perspective of a court musician, Salieri. Salieri (played by F. Murray Abraham) is a well-known figure in the Vienna music scene, and since meeting Mozart (played by Tom Hulce), his envy has been burning uncontrollably. Mozart consistently awes everyone with his extraordinary musical works, with operas like "The Marriage of Figaro" becoming timeless classics. Salieri's mixed feelings of admiration and jealousy towards Mozart have developed into a nearly twisted obsession. He sabotages Mozart's career time and again—deliberately shortening the opera's performance periods, maliciously altering Mozart's works, and inflicting relentless psychological torment on him during his time of mourning for his deceased father. In the last years of his life, the impoverished and weakened Mozart composes his swan song, the "Requiem," passing away at the age of 35, leaving behind immortal works. Meanwhile, Salieri awaits his fateful conclusion.
