In the martial arts world, there exists the Heavenly Struggle Sect, whose leader possesses powerful martial arts skills and brutal methods. When he appears, he always wears a mask, so no one knows his identity. Seeking to dominate the martial arts world alone, he sends his disciples to kill those factions that refuse to submit, causing panic throughout the realm. The hero Lü Nanren, who is deeply averse to evil, has a beautiful and charming wife, Xue Ruobi, and their relationship is excellent. One day, he learns that the Heavenly Struggle Sect intends to attack his friend Ling Beixiu, so he invites the skilled Sanxin Shenzi and others to help. On the way, they see the famous Zhongnanshan Taoist temple burning, with the Taoists and their leader brutally murdered, realizing it is the work of the Heavenly Struggle Sect. Furious, they arrive at the Ling family only to find Ling has been captured and his wife Sun Min is also missing. In a hurry to formulate a rescue plan, Sanxin Shenzi is severely injured and dies, forcing Lü to flee while being pursued. Before dying, Sanxin reveals the secret of the Heavenly Struggle Sect coveting the Lü family's Fragrant Sword Technique and treasure. Lü is shocked and rushes home, only to find it surrounded. He fights fiercely, causing the disciples to flee, but soon learns from Xue, who is in tears, that she has been humiliated by the sect leader. Enraged, Lü cannot bear to scold Xue upon seeing her pitiful state. Xue then suggests that he should hand over their hidden treasures and flee for safety. Lü, in a fit of anger, scolds her, resulting in Xue feeling utterly heartbroken. The next day, Lü's entire family escapes, and Xue leaves behind a note to sever ties. Lü finds refuge in an ancestral treasure cave and meets the long-hidden rogue Nan Tou Bei Dao, who teaches him extraordinary skills and informs him of the Lü family's treasure. Enlightened, Lü resolves to destroy the Heavenly Struggle Sect. Ling, captured and unable to resist the temptation of beauty, decides to betray his enemies and vows to hunt down Lü and Sun as a show of loyalty. Soon, many of the sect's disciples are killed by Lü, causing great alarm for the sect leader, who pressures Ling to fulfill his mission. Ling leads a large search and, on the way, encounters Sun Min, but without regard for their marital bond, he attempts to kill her. He then schemes to capture Lü, which is discovered by the heroine Xiao Ping, who deeply loves Lü. Pretending to kill herself to infiltrate the Heavenly Struggle Sect, she overcomes countless dangers, rescues Lü, and severely injures Ling. Before dying, Ling confesses his life's sins to Lü and reveals the sect leader's secret: it turns out the leader is Lü's own wife, Xue Ruobi.
