Police officer played by Huang Zihua is left paralyzed from the waist down after being hit by a car during a robbery. Meanwhile, the thug responsible for driving the robbers, Li Xiuxian, is shot and becomes a vegetable. Huang Zihua doesn't want to live the rest of his life like a useless person; under the guidance of Wu Qianlian, who takes over after a wise old man’s possession, he uses Li Xiuxian's body to be reborn. However, Li Xiuxian turns out to be a detestable scum with a terrible reputation in his hometown of Lantau Island. The new Li Xiuxian is clever, resourceful, and has a sense of justice. Tommy's soul helps Teng Ji solve many family problems, but Laura loses interest in this new Tommy. The wise old man tells him the only way to resolve this is to "walk out," which means to abandon his current shell. Meanwhile, Teng Ji's partner in the robbery fears he might be unreliable and wants to eliminate him. After a chase, the car crashes, and Teng Ji dies; Huang Zihua breaks free and becomes Zhou Huajian, his girlfriend's idol. A year later, Teng Ji becomes the owner of Lantau Island, a good person, and even runs for election.
