This film is a sequel to the 1997 movie "I Know What You Did Last Summer." The production team remains the same. The story continues from the ending of the first film, where Julie (played by Jennifer Love Hewitt) and her friends were involved in a hit-and-run accident two years ago, and they faced the revenge of the "Hook Man." Although Julie survives, the shadow of that incident continues to loom over her. Two years later, Julie's friend Carla wins a radio contest, and she along with her boyfriend Tyrell invites Julie and their classmate Will to vacation on the Bahamian island of Tavares.
