London - A long and difficult winter in 1973. A miners' strike leads to blackouts across the UK, plunging the entire country into darkness. The protagonist Val is a young nurse forced to work the night shift in a run-down hospital. That night, Val finds herself in an empty, dilapidated building shrouded in sinister darkness.
