In a lush little grove, six innocent boys and girls, each with their own secrets, play happily. Until one day, the angelically lovely "Menma," Mei Naruse (Kana Hanazawa), accidentally dies, casting an everlasting shadow over the hearts of her friends. Many years later, the friends have drifted apart, while Yadomi Jinta (Nijiro Murakami), who deeply regrets the incident from years ago, locks himself away at home. For some reason, Jinta suddenly sees the grown-up Menma (Minami Hamabe), and he tells this to his chance encounter, Tetsudo Kawai (Yuta Takahata). Tetsudo is extremely excited and quickly gathers their other friends, including Matsuyuki Atsushi (Jun Shison), Anjou Naruko (Airi Matsui), and Tsurumi Chiriko (Marie Iitoyo), to uncover Menma's unfulfilled wishes. But can these friends, whose hearts are filled with scars, join hands again? This film is adapted from the anime of the same name.
