In a cornfield in Nebraska, a farmer named Earl suddenly dies one day. His son, Joshua, and his adopted son, Eli, are sent to live with the Porter couple in Chicago. The two farm brothers begin attending school in the big city, and Joshua quickly adapts to his new environment and gets a girlfriend named Maria. However, Eli starts to influence his classmates, brainwashing them all. Soon, any adult that poses an obstacle to Eli, including Mrs. Porter and Father Nolen, dies mysteriously. In the midst of the chaos, the only one who remains clear-headed is Joshua, who recognizes Eli's sinister nature and steps in to stop him before Eli can use a special type of corn to conquer the world. Can he defeat his demonically transformed brother?
