For a long time, the residents of the small town have never ceased their speculation and suspicion about Felix (played by Robert Duvall). Some think he is a reclusive freak, others believe he has committed some unforgivable heinous crime, and some even insist that he has sold his soul to the devil in exchange for terrifying powers. In short, all the discussions ultimately conclude with this sentence - "Otherwise, how could he have hidden in the forest for so many years without showing his face?" One day, the mysterious Felix appears before the terrified residents. His appearance not only brings panic but also becomes a topic of conversation during meals, as Felix makes a very strange request - to hold his own funeral. The profit-minded funeral home owner Frank (played by Bill Murray) sees a business opportunity and takes on the job, but as the preparations for the funeral unfold, Frank gradually uncovers the hidden secrets buried in Felix's personal history.
