The story takes place during the great reform period in the Soviet Union. Bobo is a single boy who loves ballet, and his enthusiasm for dance is unmatched. Jumps, tiptoes, and even continuous spins are tasks he can easily perform; however, his small stature prevents him from lifting the female lead high, causing him to lose performance opportunities. Believing that his dad is the ballet king "Baryshnikov," Bobo is convinced that he has the bloodline of a Soviet ballet family and will one day become the principal dancer at the Bolshoi Theatre. On the eve of a performance, the principal male dancer gets injured—has Bobo's great opportunity finally come? Will he be able to step onto the stage of the Bolshoi Theatre as he wishes?
