With breathtaking scenery and a stunning figure, the beautiful Orinoco River in Venezuela's Amazon basin is filled with joyous and enthusiastic songs. U.S. Ambassador Arnold Rigis and Venezuelan Foreign Minister Sergio Cordoba are engaged in political discussions, but their pleasant time is cut short when they are suddenly attacked by a swarm of piranhas. Amid bloodshed, no one survives. Soon, news of the ambassador’s murder reaches the U.S., and Secretary of State Bob Glady (Barry Williams) quickly sends in special forces operative Jason Finch (Paul Logan) to investigate. Meanwhile, genetics professor Sara Monroe (Tiffany) from Los Angeles and her team are conducting tests on the creatures in the Orinoco River. They discover that the experimental piranhas have inexplicably escaped into the river and are growing at an alarming rate, becoming even more monstrous. She hopes Jason can persuade the willful Colonel Diaz to close off the river. However, it seems it may be too late…
