The famous American journalist Snow arrived in Shaanxi with a series of questions about Red China and met his long-awaited interviewee, Mao Zedong. During his more than four months in Shaanxi, Snow conducted investigations, interviews, and filming day and night, gaining a deep understanding of both Mao Zedong and China, and formed a strong friendship with Mao. After returning to Beiping, he wrote the world-renowned book "Red Star Over China," which caused a huge sensation worldwide. In 1939, Snow returned to Yan'an as a representative of the International Committee of the "Work Association."
