Sheng Nan (played by Yao Chen) is a woman who is independent, ambitious, and in pursuit of true love, yet remains alone. After accidentally discovering she has ovarian cancer and requires surgery, she finds herself without support as her father is having an affair and her mother is immature. She is forced to take a job she doesn't like to raise money for the surgery.
