16-year-old girl Yui (played by YUI) lives in a seaside town. She is youthful and beautiful, but unlike her peers, she cannot freely play and run on the sunlit beach during the prime of her youth. This is because Yui suffers from a rare disease—xeroderma pigmentosum (XP); her skin cannot tolerate sunlight exposure, or it could be life-threatening. From then on, she is cut off from daylight, spending her days hidden at home. The only joy she finds is walking to the station plaza at night to sing her favorite songs. In this process, Yui gradually falls for Takaharu (played by Takashi Tsukamoto), a surfing boy who often passes by the station. One day, she gathers her courage to chase after him and confess her feelings. The gentle sea breeze blows, warming their slowly blossoming romance. However, like Cinderella in a fairy tale, Yui must hurry home before sunrise, no matter how deeply she wishes to stay. For her, whose life is gradually fading, both love and music have become incredibly luxurious things...
