A 27-year-old young man from Yamaguchi Prefecture, Shōtarō Tazunai (played by Satoshi Ohno), has dreamed of becoming a superhero since childhood. However, the real world is particularly cruel; after being fired by his employer as a tokusatsu actor, Shōtarō, desperate, turns to his senior at university, Kazumoto Ikki (played by Ryuta Sato), earning a living by selling baked sweet potatoes. One day, he unintentionally saves a woman being chased by the mob, only to find out she is the second daughter, Erika (played by Yu Aoi), of the local small gang leader, Shūgorō (played by Kōshi Nakadai). Erika harbors unspeakable worries and asks Shōtarō and Kazumoto to help her plan a kidnapping scheme to extort ransom from her father. At the same time, the eldest daughter of the Hanya family, Subaki (played by Shihori Kan'ta), is investigating the sudden appearance of counterfeit money in the town. Thus, these two events become intricately entwined... This film is based on the mystery novel of the same name by Atsuya Higashikawa.
