In Melbourne, Australia, Chinese chef Jacky (Jackie Chan) is a well-known figure, regularly hosting a cooking show on television. The drug lord Jim Carlo (Richard Norton) has considerable power, and Jim Carlo himself is brutal and cold-blooded. After eliminating the undercover agents of rival gangs, he leads his group to a fierce shootout in a warehouse, during which the entire gunfight is recorded by reporter Diana (Gabrielle Fitzpatrick). While fleeing from the drug trafficking group, Diana unexpectedly encounters Jacky, who gallantly distracts the attackers for her. However, when they part ways, Diana mistakenly takes Jacky's tape of the cooking show as evidence. Soon, the drug trafficking group finds Diana's residence, and after a thorough search yields no results, they shift their focus to Jacky. Jacky's girlfriend, Meiqi (Li Tingyi), visits from afar specifically to participate in the recording of Jacky's show. The drug trafficking group then ambushes Jacky at the recording site. After a fierce street battle, Jacky finally escapes. However, the rival gang of Jim Carlo takes Meiqi hostage, threatening Jacky to exchange the tape for her. In a moment, a chaotic struggle ensues surrounding the tape involving Jacky, the police, and the two criminal groups.
