Cheung (played by Shawn Yue) is an undercover cop in Hong Kong's Sham Shui Po, operating in a world rarely seen by light, filled with violence and drugs—a dark corner of society. To survive here, Cheung must not only learn how to be a police officer but also the survival rules of the underworld. Gradually, his identity becomes increasingly blurred, living in a gray area between black and white. Lulu (played by Kirsten Xian), a prostitute in the area, has a relationship with Cheung, yet they never progress further. One day, due to an accident, Cheung accidentally kills a small-time boss, Four-eyed Tong (played by Lawrence Lau), and a mysterious killer (played by Fan Siu Wong) is the only witness. For self-preservation, Cheung and the mysterious killer embark on a chase... What secrets lie behind the killer? Will Cheung escape this crisis? "Moss" showcases how small characters survive in the dark corners of society, like moss.
