Ig Perrish (played by Daniel Radcliffe) and Merrin Williams (played by Juno Temple) are childhood sweethearts, but their lives take a dramatic turn one year ago. While on a date in the woods, Merrin is brutally murdered. Following this, Ig becomes a suspect in the crime and is investigated by the police, but ultimately he is exonerated. After regaining his freedom, Ig finds himself unable to forget Merrin, and the surrounding condemnation and doubt drive him to despair.
