Paibo (played by Laurence Fishburne) is a by-the-book fallen hero who unfortunately ends up in prison. Even more unfortunate is that the prison authorities chain him to Doggie (played by Stephen Baldwin) to perform labor in the woods of Georgia. Doggie is a skilled hacker who specializes in stealing deposits from multinational corporations, but he made a grave mistake by targeting a front company established by the Cuban Mafia. Not only did he "read" the massive deposits of the Cuban Mafia, but he also copied a computer disk capable of dismantling the criminal empire. However, he knows nothing about the dark background of this international enterprise. The Cubans want their money and the disk back, while the federal police are desperate to uncover the secrets of the disk. Paibo, originally a police officer, has been dragged into prison due to involvement in drug trafficking. The police assign him to go undercover and keep an eye on Doggie; if he finds the disk in Doggie's possession, he can get out early. Unexpectedly, while performing labor, a gunfight breaks out, and they are forced to escape from prison, handcuffed together as they navigate through the dense woods of Georgia to reach the bustling Southern metropolis of Atlanta. Both the law and the underworld want their lives, and the two hardened men are driven by circumstances. Within 72 hours, they must urgently shake off their pursuers and untangle a web of deceit to avoid falling into deadly traps. They run on foot, drive trucks, race heavy motorcycles against fast trains, and find themselves in rushing waters with no way out… doing whatever it takes without a moment's pause. They must also learn to endure each other's personalities and the situation of being handcuffed together, coordinating their movements as they desperately escape!
