In 1935, the Central Red Army, under the guidance of Wang Ming's leftist opportunism, suffered from the fifth counteroffensive by the Kuomintang. They advocated for a tenacious defense, engaging in hard confrontations with the enemy, which led to heavy losses and consumption.
