Wawa is a 7-year-old child from the Lisu ethnic group who greatly admires how his sister, Naxiang, can go to school by zip-lining across the river with her friends every day. Their mother insists that Wawa must wait for their father to return before he can zip-line. However, their father, who is working away from home, never seems to come back. Finally, unable to resist the temptation from the other side of the river, Wawa secretly zip-lines across on his own and sees the school he has long desired! Unexpectedly, his secret of zip-lining across is revealed by Teacher Nie, who visits their home for the first time! It was the red rain boots sent by Teacher Nie that kept Wawa at home. He promises his mother and sister that with these boots, he will no longer sneak across the river. The next morning, the sensible Wawa returns the beautiful rain boots to his sister. Days go by peacefully. No one could have imagined that in a hurry to bring a new pair of shoes back for her younger brother, sister Naxiang accidentally falls into the river while zip-lining…
