This biographical film portrays the life of the famous Victorian painter Louis Wain from 1837 to 1901. While he was a highly capable illustrator, he also devoted a significant amount of energy to studying how to harness electricity for the benefit of humanity. He had a wide range of interests, was curious, and was willing to put in the effort, but his mother and five sisters constantly pulled him back to reality, as he always had to work hard to support his family and pay off debts. Later, he fell in love with and married Emily, the governess of his sisters, facing opposition from his sisters and society due to their different social standings. Soon after, Emily passed away from illness, and the stray cat they adopted, Peter, became Louis Wain's emotional anchor and source of inspiration. Subsequently, his cat paintings became immensely popular across the nation, and his genius even reached across the ocean, but due to his lack of financial management, he could only live in a hospital room during his later years, while Emily, who made him realize the beauty of the world, became his final spiritual refuge.
