Directed by Herbert Ross, this film tells the story of two female friends who were passionate about ballet in their youth. One becomes a housewife while the other continues her dance career and becomes a famous ballet star. When they see the achievements of the next generation in dance, their past grievances reignite and conflict erupts anew. It's a dramatized story of female friendship; although the content is rich, the director's technique is ordinary. Only the outstanding performances of the two lead actresses and the ballet performances maintain the attraction.
