The beautiful and upright discipline inspection cadre Jiang Zhongqi (played by Huo Xiu) arrives early at the office of her brother Jiang Weiping (played by Tie Niu), who is the manager at the vegetable market. It turns out that the discipline inspection commission has received two complaints: one about the seafood group salesperson Li Xiaoqing (played by Chen Ye) accepting coupons from customers, and the other from Li Xiaoqing accusing the seafood group leader Sun Shuikang (played by Chi Zhongrui) of manipulating the wholesale process and engaging in dishonest practices. Xiaoqing and Shuikang are both outstanding workers at the market, and Zhongqi is also Shuikang's girlfriend, so she believes there may be some misunderstandings involved. As the market opens, customers create a huge uproar because they cannot buy seafood. Zhongqi conducts a close investigation of both individuals, while Xiaoqing harbors concerns about Zhongqi’s relationship with the manager and Shuikang, intentionally keeping her distance.
On one hand, there are familial and romantic ties, and on the other, there is the responsibility of work; how can Zhongqi remain impartial?
