British explorer Percy Fawcett (played by Charlie Hunnam) ventures deep into the mysterious Amazon jungle in South America, where he discovers signs of an unknown civilization. He returns to Britain to announce this groundbreaking discovery but is ridiculed and dismissed; no one wants to believe him. With the unwavering support of his wife Nina (played by Sienna Miller), Fawcett is determined to lead his son Jack (played by Tom Holland) back into the Amazon jungle in search of evidence of the ancient civilization's existence. However, the group mysteriously disappears, never to be heard from again, becoming one of history's most mysterious and enigmatic disappearance cases.
