In December 1934, when the Central Red Army was passing through the Tongdao area during the Long March, a crucial meeting was held, known as the "Tongdao Meeting." In accordance with the spirit of the Tongdao Meeting, the Central Military Commission abandoned the original plan to move north to meet the Red Second and Sixth Army Corps in Xiangxi, and instead advanced towards Guizhou, where the enemy's forces were weak, thwarting Chiang Kai-shek's attempt to annihilate the Red Army in Xiangxi. The Tongdao Meeting saved the Party, saved the Red Army, and saved the Chinese revolution at a critical moment, creating a key precondition for the successful convening of the Zunyi Conference. The film depicts the "Tongdao Meeting" and promotes a shift in the Red Army's strategic approach, and from this meeting onwards, Mao Zedong's core thinking of seeking truth from facts gradually gained acceptance throughout the Party. The release of this film on the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Party holds far-reaching significance.
