In China, two thousand years ago, the tyranny of King Qin provoked uprisings from feudal lords. Beyond the bloody and fierce battlegrounds, city-states emerged deep within dense forests. Xiang Yu (played by Daniel Wu) and Liu Bang (played by Liu Ye), two rebel leaders opposing Qin's tyranny, lead their respective forces in a relentless battle for freedom and peace, while also drawing closer to the core of the dynasty that symbolizes supreme power and infinite wealth—the Qin Palace. The course of history is always twisted and vague, yet the outcome is singular: the passionate and impulsive overlord Xiang Yu misses the chance to kill Liu Bang at the "Hongmen Feast" and can only shed tears in farewell to his beloved woman, Yu Ji (played by He Dujuan), at the banks of the Wu River. Liu Bang, alongside his Empress Lu (played by Qin Lan), and his strategists Han Xin (played by Zhang Zhen), Zhang Liang (played by Qi Dao), and Xiao He (played by Sha Yi), endure humiliation and fight until the end, becoming the ultimate rulers of the magnificent palace. In that luxurious mansion, the sovereign Liu Bang seems to have forgotten the days of fighting alongside his former allies, gradually becoming filled with suspicion towards the brothers around him. Another wave of slaughter then begins to silently spread within the towering walls of the empire...
